Lately we've been having quite the cold spell here - not more than 2 degrees Celsius during the day, and, at its worst, -10 degrees overnight. And with the windchill it has felt more like -5 or colder even with the sun shining. We haven't taken Aimy out much, but after being indoors for a few days, seeing the bright sunlight outside was difficult to bear, so Carlos and I decided to bundle Aimy up and take her out for a walk on the bike path between the city and the lake. But the wind had picked up more than we expected so we cut our walk short and decided to drive to the lake instead.
And when we arrived, we were met with a very surprising sight... part of the port had frozen over, and there was ice on the beach! It's hard to believe that we were swimming there in 30 degree weather in October. Click on the pictures for a closer look.

Is that what I think it is? |
Yep, it's ice! |

Frozen around the sailboats |
Chunks of ice on the beach |
Even the sand has been trapped under the ice. |
Whoda believed it?! |
In other news, Aimy is following objects with her eyes instead of just by sound, and is nearly able to lift up her shoulders when she is on her tummy. The verdict is still out on her eye colour, but we may have seen a hint of red in her hair... what do you think?
