Busy, busy, busy!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. We are happy and healthy, but very busy these last few weeks. Passport applications, resident card trials, check-ups, marking... so much to do in so little time. As of yesterday, Carlos is on holiday for 2 weeks, so we're taking advantage of that to go visit some castles in the Loire Valley and see some friends in Arras in the north of France, with a quick stop at the D-Day beaches on the way home. A busy trip, but one we are all looking forward to undertaking. And once we get back, it will only be 3 weeks until we arrive in Canada! Can't wait.

In other news, Aimy has been trying to pull herself up on everything so we had to take the arms off her activity mat - they weren't stable enough for her to pull up on. She's already too big to play in the laundry basket - she kept trying to pull herself up on that too. She still loves the laundry clips though, and will play with flyers and magazines for hours. When we're next to her, she always wants us to help her stand, but she's happy to play sitting on the floor with her toys if we're within sight of her. She pushes herself in reverse with her arms when she's on her tummy and she sometimes goes up on her hands and knees, and she is reaching much further for objects she really wants. No crawling, though, but with her wanting to stand all the time, I wouldn't be surprised if she tried walking first.

Oh, Fantômas!

2100 page views! Awesome! Thanks to everyone for continuing to check in and see how we're doing.

We couldn't let my mom visit without visiting at least one castle, so on one of Carlos' afternoons off, we headed inland to the castle of Roquetaillade in Gironde. Anyone who is thinking of coming to visit should see this castle. This was our second visit and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. (The title of this entry is in reference to a movie that was filmed using the castle exterior in the 60s.)

Amazing! No pictures of the inside, though.

Only castle from that era still standing in this region
Another castle and town buildings - all were razed to the ground  after the area was struck by the plague.
Beautiful
Great picture of Aimy and me.
Look at those eyes!
Still loves piggy back rides!
Laughing with Grandma... while in the church! Silly girl.
So cute.
