Fall Fun

Carlos is back at work today and so far, we girls seem to be handling not having a man in the house. The weather is pretty awful - must be mirroring the moods of all those kids who don't want to go back to school! The fall colours have started to come out here and when we went for a walk yesterday the trees were just gorgeous, though with all the wind and rain we've had overnight and so far today, I'm sure it doesn't look as picturesque as it did...

Today, I had a polar bear and a pumpkin (well, jack-o-lantern, but pretty close) in my house... too adorable for words.

More Happenings

Though it doesn't seem like we've been busy, when I go through the photos I've taken in the last few weeks, it appears we've done a lot so far this holiday! We've done some shopping, gone for lots of walks, and even made it out to the playground a few times. Aimy wasn't quite sure what to make of everything at first, but once she figured it out she had a lot of fun. In other news, I'm pretty sure Alixe is teething, so we'll have to see if she gets her first tooth around the 4-month mark like I did.

The Return of Summer?

The weather has been gorgeous here lately - 26 degrees on Friday, and 23/24 the past two days. Not quite summer temperatures, but it's been hard to believe that it's October!

In other news, Alixe has been sleeping 12 hours per night for the last week, and I'm finally catching up on some much-needed Zs. Carlos and I have figured that it had been 6 months since I had been able to sleep through the night without waking up. It feels good to wake up on my own in the morning instead of being woken up in the middle of the night.

Aimy and I were sick last week but we seem to be over our colds. Hopefully that'll be it for this year... now, it's time for us to enjoy another 2 weeks with Carlos - it's time for the Toussaint (All-Saints) holiday. It's a tough life!

Another Visitor

Last weekend, we had another visitor come to stay with us for a few days. He took time out of his European tour to come down our way until Monday, and we were glad to have him. Too bad both Aimy and I were getting nasty colds at the time! But Jay seemed to have survived the middle-of-the-night crying, and I hope he had a good time - I know we did.
