Another Visit

We had a visitor for a few days - my Belgian friend Annelien took time off work to come visit me before the baby arrives, and she, Aimy and I had a great time hanging around together despite the morose weather. I swear, every time she comes to visit, it rains! I think she must bring the weather from Brussels when she comes. But that's ok - just means I have to bring sunny Biscarrosse weather when I go to her wedding in September! <3
Presents?!
Loving the wrapping paper.
Touchable books in French! What an
awesome gift!
"Drawing"
Always amazed at how quickly she warms up to people
Snuggling the Christmas gift from Bev
And sharing it too!

First Haircut!

My little baby is growing up... she got her first haircut today! Though I didn't see it happen (I was getting my hair cut too, and good thing, because I probably would have gotten all weepy. Darn hormones), Carlos took a few pictures and we saved a bit of her hair. I miss the curls at the nape of her neck, but her hair was way too long in the back for the rest of her head, and they'll grow back soon enough.
Before
Not so sure about the lady and her detangler - Mama does
that at home and we're not always a fan.
Watching the baby in the mirror get a haircut
Whatcha doing, Daddy?
Still checking out the baby to make sure she is ok (and
enjoying the hair dryer - always a fun time)
After, from the back
All smiles!

Outdoors Again

Aimy's new favourite playground: our backyard. No need to bring toys - she'll entertain herself. Though, as you will see, my book is a welcome distraction too!

Happy to be outside
Ooh! A new game?
Laundry in the wind is funny
Let's play catch the tablecloth!
I think the tablecloth won
And then Aimy won
Flipping through Mama's book
Can't wait to see if this continues when she's
older!

Visitors

Some photos of when David and Nadège came to visit us at the end of the holiday. Aimy immediately got attached to her uncle and aunt, which I think is evident through the photos. Though the weather wasn't always great, we had a good time playing Tile Rummy, and I think they emptied Super U's stock of the local wine before they left!
Being entertained
'Helping' Uncle David blow bubbles by
putting the wand in his mouth.
Much better!
Lots of giggles
At the beach!
Lots of people out enjoying the sun

Barbecue: inevitable when David visits.
My veggies!
Happy baby

Recent Happenings

Sorry for not updating sooner - it's been a bit busy around here lately. My birthday was really nice. We had a beautiful sunny day and walked to the Sunday market to take a look at what was going on. Carlos surprised me by buying me flowers, and Aimy gave me lots of kisses. It was also great to have an hour-long chat with my parents at the end of the day and birthday messages from family and friends.

Gorgeous!

Charlotte aux poires. Delicious birthday cake!
Otherwise, we've just been hanging out and enjoying the holiday. Here are a bunch of recent photos of Aimy, many of them taken in the last two weeks.

She loves this headband and always
asks me to put it on her.
Pointing at the birds on the neighbour's
antenna
Playing in the garden

The azalea is just so fascinating!
Again with the headband!

That's My Girl

Not that we need it, but more proof that Aimy is indeed my daughter:

I'm raising a little bookworm!
