A Visitor

Uncle Greg came to visit us last week and we had a great time... so great that I didn't have time to post the many pictures we took of his visit! I'm so glad he was able to come and get to know Aimy a little better. She was a bit worried about him at first but she warmed up to him pretty quickly, and she even stayed alone with him for a while without crying! What a champ.

Mommy, I'm not sure how I feel about this...
Wait, never mind, I think he looks friendly.
Yep, I like him enough to touch him...
It's a grand mark of my affection if I'm willing to poke him in the eye!
And now we're best buds.
Need to make sure he's there at all times!
We love Uncle Greg!

What's That I Hear?

This afternoon we got a surprise: the Patrouille de France came to visit, and performed a show almost right above our house! (the PAF is like our own Snowbirds) We managed to get a few great pictures. Aimy wasn't bothered at all by the sound of the planes, though I wish she had been old enough to enjoy the show. Maybe next year!
Right outside our back door!
Not something you see every day!
The bigger view on this one will show you the French colours painted on the wings

Right above the house!

The two rear planes are upside down.
And no blog entry would be complete without a few Aimy photos. She's growing up so fast!

Shoulders and knees off the ground!
Hi mom!

Bath Time

Yay, bath time!!

I think bath time was the only thing I was nervous about doing after Aimy was born. Fortunately, she seems to love each bath more than the previous one, and has now figured out how to splash Carlos and I... she's a squirmer through and through, bath time included!

All wrapped up after a nice bath.
Discovering that fingers can go anywhere: priceless.

Big Day Today!

Aimy had her first real food today! Mashed peas at lunch time, and applesauce for snacktime. She seemed to be rather bemused about the new textures and tastes in her mouth, but she ate well both times and laughed and smiled at me between spoonfuls!
Mmm, yummy peas!
Look, Daddy! I like applesauce.
Cameras are distracting, but not enough to stop me from eating!
Otherwise, things are going well. We had two very hot days Thursday and Friday - over 30 degrees C both days - and I was concerned about keeping Aimy cool. But it turns out she's happy to hang out in a diaper with the fan going, and sucking on a facecloth with ice cubes helped when she was thirsty. And this nice weather has been a great excuse to barbecue and try out some new recipes!
Wearing another one of my old outfits.
This week is a short one; Carlos works all day Monday and Tuesday, and Wednesday morning, and then he's off until next Monday. It'll be nice to have a long weekend together. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!
Lots of smiles for Daddy!
Being in the Wrap with Mommy is fun!
